Well, since you found your way here, you'll be aware that we have a new MTP website, here at https://mtp.travel ! Welcome!!
This new website was built from the ground up to improve user experience and stability, as well as provide greater flexibility for growth and innovation going forward. Nearly all of the functionality of the old site has been recreated (and I hope is now easier to use), along with a few new touches. You will also see ongoing enhancements as we settle in.
With our new flexible platform, the MTP list of 874 (which has been generally static for many years) can now begin to evolve, to better reflect the proper division of the land area of the world. Our original voting system resulted in a list which is currently out of balance in spots, and could use adjustment. Announcements on this front will be made separately in the near future.
For now, please have a look around, using your existing login credentials. Report any issues you find using the new Contact form, and we will do our best to fix them asap. Don't hesitate to send along your feature request, thoughts and ideas about any part of the site. For example, what color should the menu bar be? Should we go with that hideous orange? (Some people love it, and others not so much!)
There are some issues we already know about that you do not need to report, and below you will find a list of those. Please have a look before you report something we already know.
Thanks to each of you for your support of MTP over the years, and I hope you enjoy the new site!

New MTP Errata (things we already know - no need to report these items):
- The Restaurant list has been expanded to include the World's Top 100 restaurants, as well as all Michelin 2 and 3 star locations
- Anyone who tracked restaurant visits on Old MTP will have to re-enter those. We are starting restaurants over with a clean slate
- Not all Michelin 2-3 star restaurants are on the list yet. We will be filling in those missing restaurants in the upcoming weeks.
- The Beaches list has been expanded from 25 to over 100, incorporating some new sources. We will be holding a user contest later this year to get to a final list of 100 beaches.
- Any of your posts containing 'foreign characters' (e.g. â, ñ, ø, etc) were not handled well by the old system. You will have to edit these. Just go in and retype those characters and save the post.
- Most of you will not have a new minimap loaded yet. To load your minimap, click Reload next to the minimap on your Profile page. The new minimap takes 5-10 seconds to create and load, so don't keep clicking the button. It's working.
- Connecting with Facebook enables you to see your record alongside your Facebook friends on MTP, and have access to your Facebook photos for posting directly on MTP. We will also soon enable sharing posts automatically between MTP and Facebook, so you only have to create posts in one place.
- Note that other MTP users will not be able to see your Facebook information - only any photos you decide to post to MTP.
- We've migrated over all of your MTP photos. New MTP can handle much higher image quality than Old MTP, so you may want to reload or swap our some of your photos for higher quality replacements.
